Time: 3.55pm to 4.25pm
Theme: Assessment
Location: Richmond LT3

Abstract:

This session introduces how the Modern Work Programme (MWP) is supporting the University’s Digital Education project and shaping the next phase of digitally enabled teaching and learning. It will outline the evidence‑based approach used to develop small proofs of concept and targeted pilots, showing how these activities surface real teaching and learning needs and guide decisions before any wider rollout. Reflecting the diversity of practice across the University, the session will emphasise avoiding one‑size‑fits‑all solutions and show how this methodology aligns with the wider MWP Phase 1B approach. A key focus will be meaningful engagement with teaching and learning staff. CADI will be presented as a central way to understand what colleagues value, what they need, and what works in practice. The session will also explain how staff can contribute to the Digital Education project, ensuring their perspectives shape the roadmap, and how updates will be shared as work develops. The session will explore how MWP Digital Education can enhance modules and programmes by supporting flexible, engaging learning experiences and preparing students for an evolving digital landscape. Opportunities for ethical and effective use of AI‑enhanced learning will be discussed, as well as how digital tools can support authentic, student‑centred assessment and feedback. We will conclude with an open Q&A, offering space for colleagues to raise questions, clarify expectations, and discuss how MWP Digital Education can best support their ongoing teaching practice.
