Mentimeter at Portsmouth: Launching New Possibilities for Student Engagement

Mentimeter Launch

Time: 1:20pm to 1:55pm
Location: Richmond LT1
Presenter: Mentimeter Representatives

Abstract:

As part of this year’s conference, we are delighted to welcome colleagues from Mentimeter as we officially launch the University of Portsmouth’s transition to Mentimeter as a key engagement and interaction platform across the institution. This session will provide colleagues with an engaging introduction to Mentimeter, showcasing how the platform can be used to support active participation, inclusive learning, real-time feedback, and meaningful student engagement within a wide range of teaching and learning contexts.

Led by the Mentimeter team, the session will explore some of the platform’s core features and functionality, including interactive polling, live questioning, collaborative activities, word clouds, quizzes, and audience participation tools. Colleagues will also gain insight into some of the newer and developing features within the platform, alongside practical examples of how Mentimeter can be used to create more dynamic and responsive learning experiences. The presentation will also highlight how Mentimeter aligns with the University’s broader commitment to active blended learning, participation, and teaching well, consistently well. Alongside the platform demonstration, colleagues from CADI will outline the support, guidance, and development opportunities that will be available to staff as Mentimeter is embedded more widely across the University.

Whether you are completely new to Mentimeter or already experimenting with interactive teaching approaches, this session offers an opportunity to explore the possibilities of the platform, ask questions, and consider how digital engagement tools can enhance learning, interaction, and student voice across the Portsmouth curriculum.
