Dr Matthew Fleet
Senior Lecturer in Higher Education
Dr Matthew Fleet is a Senior Lecturer in Education with extensive experience in curriculum design, inclusive pedagogy, and international education. With a background in school and college leadership, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Winchester, Matthew brings a practitioner-informed perspective to curriculum enhancement and professional development.
His work focuses on educational innovation, inclusive teaching, and curriculum development, with particular interests in closing the awarding gap, student engagement, sustainability, and supporting international learners. Matthew has delivered teacher training and consultancy across the UK and internationally, working with educators and institutions in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Most recently, he has supported curriculum reform and professional development initiatives in Jordan and China.
At Portsmouth, Matthew supports curriculum innovation and staff development through CADI, drawing on his expertise in assessment, inclusive practice, and pedagogical leadership.
