Module 1: Teach Well – Principles to Practice

Module 1 provides the foundation for your PGCert HE journey, helping you explore effective learning and teaching and consider how this applies within your own professional context. 

Through practical activities, discussion, reflection and collaboration with colleagues from across the University, you will explore three interconnected pillars: 

• Learning Design – designing purposeful and engaging learning experiences, including learning outcomes, constructive alignment and learning activities. 
• Teaching Practice – developing effective and inclusive approaches to teaching and supporting learning, with a focus on engagement, participation and belonging. 
• Assessment and Feedback – exploring how purposeful assessment and feedback can support student learning and development. 

Teach Well – Principles to Practice is highly interactive and collaborative. Throughout the module, you will also use a reflective sketchbook to capture your developing thinking, experiences and reflections.
