Understanding academic staff engagement with Continuing Professional Development: Patterns, perceptions and impact
We are undertaking a research study exploring how academic staff engage with Continuing Professional Development (CPD), the factors that shape their engagement, and the impact CPD has on their teaching practice.
Research Study:
The study has two phases:
- Phase 1: An online survey (expected to take less than 15 minutes to complete) exploring experiences of and perspectives on CPD.
- Phase 2: An online semi-structured interview (30–60 minutes) exploring volunteers’ engagement with and perceptions of CPD.
All academic staff can take part in either or both phases of the research. Colleagues who take part in the survey will have the option to express interest in taking part in an interview.
If you would prefer to take part in the semi-structured interview only, please contact Matthew Fleet by email at matthew.fleet@port.ac.uk
We are keen to hear from as many colleagues as possible. At present our ethics approval only extends to responses from academic colleagues. If you are a professional services colleague who wishes to contribute views, please let us know and we will consider other means to gather views.
