From September, academic skills resources currently hosted on Moodle and Google sites will be migrated to the Library website. Following migration, these legacy sites will no longer be accessible to staff or students.
This change does not alter the commitment to academic skills provision. Students will continue to receive high-quality support from tutors, working in closer partnership with Library staff following the migration.
The Library website is a well-established platform that students already use to support their learning. Migrating resources to this environment will improve visibility and accessibility, ensuring students can access academic development support in a familiar and trusted space. It will also enable improved usage analytics, allowing us to better understand engagement with resources and ensure future development is informed by student need.
On the Library website, resources will sit under the new heading Academic Development, reflecting a broader and more holistic approach to student learning and progression as lifelong learners.
Resources will include subject-specific examples where appropriate; however, the emphasis will be on consolidation and consistency to ensure an equitable experience for students across all faculties. Making these resources publicly available will also enhance accessibility for prospective students and support transition into higher education.
