AI
Showcase your AI teaching practice
AI is transforming the way we teach — and we know UoP staff are leading the way with creative, impactful approaches. Whether you’re using AI to boost student engagement, streamline assessment design, or enhance learning experiences, we’d love to hear from you.
CADI is gathering examples of innovative AI use in teaching to share through short, staff-led workshops. This is your opportunity to inspire colleagues, share your ideas, and help build a vibrant community of AI practice at UoP.
Submit your example via the MS Form and be part of showcasing how AI is shaping the future of learning and teaching.
AI guidance for staff
The University is developing new guidance to help staff use AI confidently, ethically and effectively in teaching and assessment. It promotes AI as a tool to enhance learning and uphold authenticity, rigour and academic integrity.
Key highlights include clear expectations for staff and student AI use, a preferred hybrid assessment model (Track A) and support through CADI training and resources. Implementation begins in October 2025, with full guidance to be published soon.
Learning Design
Discover SMART Capture
SMART Capture is an inclusive, design-led approach to creating meaningful digital learning experiences. Every video, resource and activity is intentionally crafted to help students stay engaged, keep up and catch up — supporting real understanding, critical thinking and practical application.
Learn how SMART Capture can elevate your digital teaching and enhance the student learning experience.
Moodle
CPD Moodle upgrade
Scheduled Downtime (17–21 November)
Our CPD Moodle site will be upgraded to version 4.5 from 17–21 November and will be unavailable during this time. The upgrade is essential for continued reliability and involves the removal of several outdated plugins.
Read the full article for details on the upgrade, affected features and next steps.
Moodle templates - Connected Curriculum
CADI colleagues are leading a project to design Moodle templates to support the Connected Curriculum. We are currently designing templates before piloting on duplicate TB1 modules.
The team are keen to hear feedback on best practice in regard to module layout in Moodle from academic teams (and students).
Please take a look at the slide deck for more information about the project (including timelines) and how to provide feedback if you're interested.

L&T Conference: save the date and call for papers
We would like to invite colleagues to save the date for our annual Learning and Teaching Conference which will take place on Thursday 25th June 2026.
We’re also delighted to announce that the call for submissions is now open. This year’s theme — “Teach Well, Consistently Well” — invites colleagues to share innovative, inclusive and student-focused approaches to learning and teaching. All staff and collaborative partners are encouraged to submit, with co-created contributions with students particularly welcome.
Deadline for submissions: 5.00pm, Tuesday 31st March 2026.
Read the full article for call for submissions and details on how to submit your proposal.
Join an APEX Orientation workshop
Ready to start your journey toward Fellowship? The APEX Orientation is your essential first step. These sessions provide an overview of the APEX programme, introduce the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) and guide you toward the pathway, written or professional conversation, that best suits your experience.
Reserve your place at one of the upcoming orientation dates on 25th November or 18th December and take the first step toward professional recognition through APEX.
CADI CPD - Continuing Professional Development
If your PDR has identified areas for your own continuing professional development, please take the opportunity to explore the CADI CPD Portfolio, now available on Docebo.
We're delighted to share the first edition of the CADI CPD Catalogue, which lists all our current opportunities running through to June next year. This interactive document links directly to sessions on Docebo, making it easy to find and sign up for the activities that best support your development.
Our CPD offer is continually evolving, and the catalogue will be updated each month as new workshops and resources are added, so please keep checking back to see what's new.
We'd also love to hear from you if you have ideas for staff development sessions that aren't yet included. You can use the CADI Padlet, linked within the catalogue, to share your suggestions. If you'd like to contribute directly by running a session yourself, we'd be keen to hear from you. CADI is always looking to highlight the expertise across our university community and provide opportunities for colleagues to share and shape good practice together.
New CPD sessions now on Docebo
Exciting updates are now live on Docebo, with fresh CPD sessions and additional dates for our popular AI-focused workshops. New offerings include “Let’s Be Reasonable: Anticipating and Integrating Reasonable Adjustments (EDI)” and “The Enterprise Programme.”
