Mike Taylor
Digital Project Specialist (Assessment and Feedback)
Mike has been a Digital Project Specialist with the team since 2022, specialising in the development, delivery and support of all online assessment across the university. Mike has been heavily involved in working on the WISEflow end-to-end assessment project since it began piloting in 2022.
After 11 years teaching and managing A level Maths and BTEC Music courses, Mike joined the university in 2016 and worked in various online developer roles across a number of departments.
During his time within the Schools of Engineering, Mike developed comprehensive and innovative assessment materials for the mathematical modules using Moodle’s integrated maths tools. He also produced a number of custom Google Apps projects, both administrative and educational, aimed at significantly reducing staff and student workload.
Mike is a Fellow of the HEA, is studying a Degree Apprenticeship in Project Management in the faculty of Business and Law, and has an APM Project Management Qualification.
As both a teacher, developer, and student, Mike has always sought to improve assessment, learning, and workload via the integration of native technology and through online integration tools.
