Joanna has over 20 years of experience in education, having worked as both a lecturer in Further Education (FE) and a teacher trainer. Her teaching background includes English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). She holds a PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education and an MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL, which have equipped her with a strong foundation in pedagogy and language education.

Alongside her teaching roles, Joanna held various positions focused on integrating learning technologies into the classroom. This included developing expertise in using Moodle and Audience Response Systems, providing training and support to colleagues in these areas. 

In 2022, she joined the University of Portsmouth’s eLearn team and then transitioned into her current role as a Learning Designer with the CADI team. In this role, she remains committed to enhancing student engagement by incorporating active learning strategies, gamification, and authentic content, while ensuring accessibility for all learners. Joanna is passionate about bringing these values into her work, continually striving to create inclusive and engaging learning experiences.
