Becky Holman

Learning Designer

Becky has worked for the University of Portsmouth since 2007 and was most recently a Learning Technologist for Degree Apprenticeships before moving into her current role of Learning Designer for CADI. With 7 years of expertise in designing, developing, and implementing innovative digital learning resources for degree apprenticeships, Becky has vast experience of collaborating with academic staff and external stakeholders to create interactive and accessible online learning environments through the constructive alignment of learning objectives, activities, and assessments.

Her particular interests are to facilitate ways that academics can create engaging, yet meaningful content and sparking their creativity using narrative arcs that can flow through an activity, module or course. Her personal values mean that she is passionate about using technology to create meaningful and engaging content, whilst supporting diverse learner needs.

Becky takes CPD very seriously and is always looking to inform her practice and learn new things. She is an Associate Fellow of the HEA and has undertaken the ‘Teach Well: Principles of Practice' Level 7 module, which focuses on learning and design approaches, and what it means to teach well across different modes of study. Currently she is undertaking a part-time, distance taught undergraduate degree in Illustration, which has had the interesting side effect of helping her to understand, from a personal perspective, the challenges that students can face when undertaking study delivered this way.
